FAQs
Musical experience helps, but it is not a requirement for lessons or joining the choir.
Please come to sessions with an open mind and willing to have a go.
For those of you who like to have sheet music, please note that I teach all songs by ear. In the choir setting, you will be asked not to use sheet music/words.
You do not need to audition to join our community choirs, workshops or have singing lessons.
No, you do need to be religious to sing in Bright Soul Choir.
We welcome people from all walks of life – the more diverse the better. We tend to rehearse in church spaces because the acoustics are fantastic, but we are not linked to a church.
Some of the songs we sing will have religious references and content.
When we return to in-person rehearsals, you will be asked to comply with COVID-19 measures for the safety and collective health of our choir. These will be provided prior to the term and updated as required. You should note that if we are forced into a lockdown situation during the term we will continue rehearsals online or switch to outdoor rehearsals – whichever is permitted and practicable at the time. I reserve the right to change the location in the best interests of the group.
Welcome to our Bursary scheme for people just like you. This scheme has been launched because we want to make singing accessible to everybody!
Please get in touch, confidentially, and ask about the bursary scheme.
You can either pay what you can afford or attend the term completely free of charge.
No catches. You won’t owe us. You don’t even need to say thank you. But you do need to show up and sing! That’s it!
All our rehearsal spaces have accessible toilets, ramps and wide doors. But please get in touch if you specific needs and we will do our best to help.
